Heterogeneous Chemical State of Carbon in Fe-C Binary Alloys

چکیده
In this study, we performed scanning transmission X-ray microscopy with a spatial resolution of approximately 50 nm to investigate the two-dimensional mapping chemical states carbon in Fe–C alloy. The lamellar texture (pearlite) consisting ferrite (α-Fe) and θ-Fe3C an interval 100 was identified by absorption from 1s→2p excitation image. It clearly observed that there exist more than two types depending on microtextures. differences were found between grained pearlite, which might have originated morphology θ-Fe3C. To consider origins differences, first-principles calculations assuming distortion crystal anisotropy unit cell structure. results suggest structure lattice strain within fail explain therefore, other factors should be considered.

Heterogeneous aggregation in binary colloidal alloys
Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation has been employed to study the nonequilibrium structure formation of two types of particles in a colloidal suspension, driven by type-dependent forces. We examined the time evolution of structure formation as well as on the structural properties of the resulting aggregation by studying the radial distribution function (RDF). The resulting aggregation is well d...
متن کاملHydrogen-vacancy interactions in Fe-C alloys.
Energetics and concentrations of hydrogen-containing point defect clusters (PDCs) in Fe-C alloys are calculated and cast into a PDC dominance diagram. Because of the strong binding effects of iron vacancies on the stability of the clusters, hydrogen accumulation requires the total hydrogen and vacancy concentrations to be comparable. As a result of the interplay between repulsive and attractive...
متن کاملRole of Chemical Ordering on Phononic Transport in Binary Alloys
Many random substitutional solid solutions (alloys) will display a tendency to chemically order given the appropriate kinetic and thermodynamic conditions. Such order-disorder transitions will result in major crystallographic reconfigurations, where the atomic basis, symmetry, and periodicity of the alloy change dramatically. Consequently, phonon behavior in these alloys will vary greatly depen...
متن کاملPoint defect concentrations in metastable Fe-C alloys.
Point defect species and concentrations in metastable Fe-C alloys are determined using density functional theory and a constrained free-energy functional. Carbon interstitials dominate unless iron vacancies are in significant excess, whereas excess carbon causes greatly enhanced vacancy concentration. Our predictions are amenable to experimental verification; they provide a baseline for rationa...
